Alisa has worked in Physical Therapy as a technician where she became skilled at rehabilitation of sport injuries, as well as everyday injuries, like car accidents and minor sprains and strains. She has experience working with special populations due to her time with Bon Secours Cardiac Rehabilitation Center. There, she studied under a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and learned how to perform exercise stress tests, create exercise prescriptions for patients who suffered heart attacks, strokes, and other forms of cardiovascular disease, and how to read and interpret heart rhythms.
Alisa became a CPT shortly after a semester taking a Strength, Endurance, and Flexibility course at VCU. She knew then she had a passion for exercise program design, and wanted to become someone who could help people achieve optimal wellness. She landed her first professional personal training position with VCU Recreational Sports. She was able to work with an eclectic population of clientele, from elite athletes, to weight loss clients, to rehabilitation clients. During her time there she was among the top earning Personal Trainers of 2016.
The native Delawarean has an eighteen-year background in dance and theater training, beginning at age five, when she took her very first dance class at Christina Cultural Arts Center in Wilmington Delaware. She has had the honor of training under world-renowned chorographers from companies such Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, The Philadelphia Dance Company, and Eleone Dance Theatre. She is no stranger to the community using her art to uplift and inspire the masses performing at the Grand Opera House, Delaware Theatre Company, and many other corporate and community events throughout the Delaware area.
Working throughout the tri-state area over the last few years, Alisa has had the opportunity to work with hundreds of clients. She enjoys crafting innovative, fun, and effective exercise prescriptions tailored to fit the needs of her trainees. Not only that, but she strives to be an advocate for health and fitness for her friends, family, clients, the community, and anyone willing to embrace a lifestyle change. So much so, that Alisa was awarded the Reader’s Choice Delaware’s Best Personal Trainer of 2018 award.
